2023 Presidential tussle: Dele momodu advised by the PDP chairman.

Popular Journalist and Chief Executive Officer of Ovation Media group, Dele Momodu has been informed that members of the party and not leaders are those who would determine the candidate in the 2023 general elections.

 He was informed by the national chairman of the People's Democratic party (PDP) Iyorchia Ayu on Thursday when Momodu visited him at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja to present his letter of intent to contest for the presidential ticket of the party.

Ayu speaking to Momodu in the presence of Media men told him that for him to run for the presidential office he must have a strong platform, and also charging him to first of all work hard and build a strong party which they can go into battle with, he went on further to wish him well in his personal ambition like all other candidates.

The chairman stated emphatically according to punch reports, that there will be a level playing ground for all aspirants, also imforming him that they do not have a special candidate or a preferred one rather the party members will decide who will contest for any office, finally the PDP Chairman told him that if at the end of the day, the party members vote for him that they will stand behind him but he must put in the work to go out and work it out with party members across the country because the party leadership will not do it for him but only try to provide the necessary mechanism.
