2023 election: Umahi, Tinubu declares interest for presidency.
The former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has indicated interest in the forthcoming elections alongside the current Governor of Ebonyi state, David Umahi and the duo happen to be members of the All Progressive Congress(APC).
Umahi speaking at a press conference declares his intentions to replicate his excellent efforts in Ebonyi state at the national level, this he said after meeting the president Muhammadu Buhari who asked him to seek the people's support.
According to Channels report, Dave Umahi stated that he wants to bring in viable change into the government and also provide solutions to the insecurity problems in Nigeria which is one of the major issues affecting the country in recent times.
The Ebonyi state Governor who doubles also as the South East Governor's forum also believes that if the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra(IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu is open to engagement he is certain that peace will return to the South East.
Tinubu also declared his interest before Umahi came up on the scene, he stated that even though he had not yet declared his intentions to Nigerians, he had a backing from the president and being the president has also been his life long ambition.
Bola Tinubu who is the Abuja National leader of APC and former Lagos State governor being asked of his view being in the presidential race with the vice president, Yemi Osibanjo and the Governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello and others, replied that he will not want to discuss individuals at the moment but rather focus on himself and on the plans and prospect he has for Nigerians.
He further emphasized his confidence, vision and capacity to build on the Buhari's administration inorder to turn around the fate of the country.
