New York City: fire outbreak, 19 dead.

Terror strikes as 19 peeople meet their death in a fire outbreak that broke out from an apartment block in New York City leaving 60 people injured and 13 people still in critical conditions at the hospital, the mayor of the city, Eric Adams reiterated that the fire can be said to be one of the worst to occur in modern times adding that it is indeed a tragedy and calls out the city to keep praying for the innocent lives that has been cut short.

The New York City fire department commissioner, Daniel Nigro stated that the fire fighters were able to rescue some of the victims despite running out of oxygen in their tanks, According to Sky reports majority of the victims of the fire are suffering from severe smoke inhalation and the fire has been said to be caused by a malfunctioning electrical space heater, as recounted by the reporter said that the firefighter also did their bit to stop the fire, pushing smoke out of the building and rescuing victims from the massive 19-storey building.

Further investigations is being carried out by inspectors in New York City and also assisting firefighters, people lost their homes to the fire and the police has announced that the Angelo Patri middle school has been opened for victims who lost their homes to the fire.
